All of our installation engineers have completed the OFTEC 600A (Oil Fired Technical Association) Training & Assessment course covering installation and maintenance of oil storage tanks in the domestic light commercial sector . Domestic Oil Storage Tanks

Our most frequent service for domestic clients is to replace an old or leaking steel tank with a new, no maintenance, plastic tank with a 10 year guarantee.

This is achieved by:

Pumping the existing oil to a temporary tank.

Removing and recycling the old tank.

Lay a new base of pavings on the existing piers.

Install and connect a new plastic tank with 10year warranty.

Pump the oil from the temporary tank to the new installation.

Test the system and restart the appliances (Boiler, Aga etc.)

Other services include tank relocation, fuel transfers and removal & recycling of redundant tanks.

The majority of domestic oil storage tanks can be of a single skin construction. To comply with Government regulations however you must use a bunded tank if you store more than 2500 litres of oil or if the environment the tank is situated in is:

Within 10 metres of controlled watercourse such as stream, river etc..

Located where a spillage could run into an open drain or loose fitting manhole cover.

Within 50 metres of a bore hole or spring.

Where the vent pipe is not visible from the fill point. (IE. Extended fill points)

Any other Potential hazards individual to the site.
